My Latest Addiction
The P90X masochist founder recommends drinking a “recovery drink” after each workout.
Of course I’m not buying the branded protein powders that he pushes for the program, so I decided to make my own.
I’ve slacked off with the program (sigh, it’s only been a week, I know, but I promise I’ll get right back on it!). Instead of craving the workouts, I’ve been craving the recovery drink I make afterward.
Interesting.
Right now, I really, really, really want one, so I’ve told myself that I can’t have one until I do one of the exercise DVDs.
And that’s been working, so far…
But you can have it right now.
Ingredients
2 cups spinach
2 bananas
4tbs hemp protein or 3tbs hempseeds (I use Manitoba Harvest and Nutivas Naturals, whichever store has the lowest price at the time)
1tb cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups coconut milk (I use So Delicious brand)
1/2 tbs maple syrup
Throw everything into your blender and blend well until smooth. I freeze my bananas ahead of time, so I never need to add ice.
Makes about 28oz
